Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of scooped.me, uae.scooped.me, the Scooped daily email digest, and the Scooped social channels (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is published by Bugbear Labs FZE, licensed by Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone (License No. 4426652.01), United Arab Emirates (“we,” “us,” “Scooped”).
By reading the Service, subscribing to the digest, or otherwise using it, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
We’ve kept these short. Where points repeat or overlap with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy controls on privacy questions and these Terms control on everything else.
1. What Scooped is
Scooped is a regulatory intelligence publication. We monitor UAE government regulators, financial authorities, and other primary sources, then publish plain-language summaries of regulatory changes with citations back to the originating source.
Scooped is journalism, not legal advice. We tell you what changed. We do not tell you what to do about it. Our summaries are general information about publicly available regulatory material. For your specific situation, consult a UAE-qualified lawyer, accountant, or other licensed advisor.
2. Permission to read
You may read the Service. You may share individual alerts with others by linking to them. You may quote short passages with attribution for the purposes of news reporting, commentary, education, or research.
You may not:
- Republish, scrape, or systematically harvest substantial portions of the Service for redistribution as a competing product.
- Remove or alter our attribution, citations, or branding when sharing our content.
- Use the Service to train commercial machine-learning models intended to reproduce or substitute for our editorial output.
- Use the Service in any way that violates UAE law or the laws of any jurisdiction from which you access it.
We rely on fair use / fair dealing principles for our own use of third-party material, and we respect the same principles applied to ours.
3. Subscription
The daily digest is free. You can subscribe by entering your email in any signup form on our site. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
We don’t currently offer paid subscriptions. If we do in the future, separate paid-tier terms will apply.
4. Accuracy and corrections
We work from primary sources and verify before publication. Despite this, journalism sometimes contains errors. When we discover an error in a published alert, we:
- Publish a correction with the same prominence as the original alert.
- Annotate the original alert with the correction.
- Note material corrections in the daily digest for at least one cycle.
If you believe we’ve published an inaccuracy, write to hello@scooped.me with the alert in question and the correct information (preferably with a citation). We’ll investigate and respond.
5. Sponsorship and editorial independence
Scooped is free to read and sponsor-supported. Sponsors fund our continued operation. Sponsors do not control, direct, or influence editorial content.
- Sponsored content is always identified clearly with a “Sponsored” label on web, email, and social.
- Sponsors do not see subscriber lists or individual reader data.
- The presence of a sponsor does not affect whether or how we cover regulatory developments related to that sponsor’s industry or competitors.
If you ever believe a piece of editorial content has been influenced by a sponsor, write to hello@scooped.me. We take this seriously.
6. Source attribution
Every alert cites its primary source and links to the source publication. Where we summarise content originally published by a third party (news outlet, regulator, expert firm), our practice is:
- Short quotation (typically under one paragraph) where the exact wording matters.
- Plain-language summary of the substance, in our own words.
- Clear attribution and link to the originating source.
- No reproduction of full articles, photographs, or other content from third parties without permission.
If you are a source publisher who believes we have used your material outside the bounds of fair dealing, write to hello@scooped.me with a specific reference. We will review and, if appropriate, edit or remove the material.
7. Liability
The Service is provided “as is.” We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but:
- We do not warrant that the Service is error-free, complete, or current to the minute.
- We do not guarantee that any specific regulatory event will be covered or covered within a specific timeframe.
- We are not liable for any decision you make based on the Service. The Service is intended to keep you informed, not to be your sole basis for legal, commercial, or financial decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, our total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the greater of (a) AED 100 or (b) the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months — which for free subscribers is AED 0.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under UAE law, including liability for fraud or for harm caused intentionally.
8. Third-party services
Our Service depends on third-party providers: hosting (Netlify, Fly.io, Supabase), email delivery (Resend), and social distribution (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook). We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy decisions made by these providers.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We can suspend or terminate access to any user who violates these Terms, abuses the service, or engages in conduct we reasonably believe harms us or other readers.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied by the courts of Sharjah and the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone where applicable. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct discussion will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UAE courts.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms when our practices or applicable law changes. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a material change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
